Ford Year: 2005. UK/Ireland Location: Co-Antrim. Posted November 16, 2022. Another clue that it may have it, is the actual head unit will have an AUX button on it. (top left) If it has the button, but no visible input, you can buy a lead for the back of the unit which will offer you the option to plug an AUX cable into it - that's what I had to do.
They found an open/closed circuit on the glow plugs. We inspected the wiring and found the wires were fine but the 60a fuse was blown. We replaced the fuse, and as expected it blew again. We replaced all 4 glow plugs, and cleaned the intake etc in the meantime, put it all back together and the fuse is fine and no longer blowing.
The glowplug light comes on when you switch the ignition on, Then goes out after a few seconds. after that point its purpose is now a fault light. Flashing when the fuelling or turbo etc are not. within spec. Even when the light goes out the glowplugs may still be heating to improve emissions after a. cold start.
The glow plugs on the 2.0. litre engine are located down the back of the engine as shown in the picture below, to gain access to them you will need to remove the egr valve and the egr cooler unit. The book time to replace the glow plugs is 2 hours but this will all depend on the skill of the person doing it and tightness of the bolts.
