top dipstick is from engine 183A1.000 year 1999. bottom 138A6.000 year 2000. i just changed engine oil on 1999 car and put in a little less than 4 litres and it shows way above max, before i drained old oil i checked and it was around max on dipstick, but 5.2L came out. autodata shows oil capacity at 4.1L.

Once its drained down - replace bung. Undo the Filler Bung - its smack Back in the Middle of the gearbox itself - on the passenger side - its about half way up. Undo the 12mm Hex - And Fill the box back up with 75/80w Gearbox Oil. I think it was 75/80. And keep filling till you start to overflow out the filling hole.

Anyone should check at intervals how much oil was going into the car in the first place. Now if you read Andy's guide properly he wrote 'The 1.2 8V takes 2.6 Litres of oil ((4.58 pints)) to bring it to ½ way on the dipstick And as T14086 advises below 3.2 Litres to fill it to max. Advises, not tells you.
